WHAT WE DO
OPH operates within North Kensington, providing events, activities, needs-based training, community enrichment, and ad-hoc services identified and raised by community members. OPH acts as a conduit adding social value, creating networks and opportunities, linking communities with local services to increase their quality of life and providing life chances through training and fulfilment. OPH works with various existing established local groups to further connect and support all community members. Our aim is to expand our reach more widely and support the whole community in Kensington and Chelsea and groups situated in London, regardless of their age, sex, race, ethnic origin, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief.
MUSIC 2 HEAL WORKSHOPS
Providing a constructive platform to develop their pre-existing musical skills, the Music to Heal workshop provides a positive avenue for participants to use vocal and instrumental sounds as a therapeutic tool to address any unaddressed forms of trauma or stress. Incorporating the FL studio software provided by Image-Line, the beginner, intermediate and advanced classes offered sharpens the students musical expertise and IQ behind the production of music, song writing, DJ'ing and lastly mixing.
Our Power Hub offers a set of beginner, intermediate and advanced boxing classes on a weekly basis. The experience provided by our partners, ARMZHOUSE Boxing Fitness and Dale Youth Amateur Boxing Club, positions our students within an environment that will specifically improve both the physical and emotional health of our students involved! We have recently partnered up with a local qualified female personal trainer to offer separate classes to ladies only. Get in touch to get involved today!
The team at Our Power Hub continuously aims to find new strategies within the local area to help tackle underlining issues that are damaging the community. For instance, in February 2021, Our Power Hub partnered with the North Kensington Community Kitchen, a community interest company specifically designed to deliver both food and items to the bereaved survivors of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, as well as other residents in Kensington & Chelsea who are the most disadvantaged, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about"
